Institute's / Colleges have been granted Autonomy by UGC and Mumbai University(Only 1 till date)
Fine that an Institute can set its own Curriculum and have its own Evaluation process , but what about the Degrees ?
Who is going to award the Degrees , the Institute or Mumbai University or any other University where such Autonomous Institutes and Colleges are there.
OK the University and UGC will provide financial aid to such Institutes and colleges but how can an University issue DEGREES AND DIPLOMAS for courses which do not have University Curriculum or Assessment Process , this is just not right and acceptable.
The Autonomous Institutes / Colleges must issue their own Degrees/Diploma certificates which UGC shud accept.
Autonomy is good but it cud also lead to corruption and harassment of students at Institute level.
UGC / University shud have necessary steps in place for fair Education System for Student Community , afterall its matter of Educating India for a better tomorrow.
